Lav Diaz recebe o Leão de Ouro.

Foram anunciados neste sábado, 10/09, os vencedores do 73º Festival de Cinema de Veneza. O júri, presidido pelo cineasta britânico Sam Mendes, escolheu o filipino Ang babaeng humayo (The Woman Who Left), dirigido por Lav Diaz, como o melhor filme.

Na Mostra Orizzonti, competição internacional dedicada a filmes que representam as últimas tendências estéticas e expressivas no cinema internacional, duas mulheres levaram os principais prêmios: a italiana Federica Di Giacomo ganhou como melhor filme por Liberami e a belga Fien Troch foi premiada na categoria de melhor direção por Home.
